Which Handy sleeve should you get?

The short answer

Your first sleeve decision is about fit, texture and cleanup—not a universal "best." The Handy catalogue lists Gen2, Lips, Lotus, Pearl and Touch among a larger range. The Edgy’s author says they personally used seven sleeves over several years with an original Handy 1; their detailed impressions help clarify trade-offs, but they are not a Handy 2 laboratory test. In particular, that reviewer has not supplied a first-hand Touch assessment in the seven-sleeve report we reviewed.

How to read the reviews without getting sold a fantasy

The Edgy's reviewer explicitly identifies which sleeves they own and which they have not tested. That transparency is more useful than a generic five-star roundup. They describe Gen2 as their frequent-use reference point, Lotus as softer, Lips as more textured, and Pearl as enjoyable but less convenient to clean up after. These are subjective reactions from one owner and may not match your anatomy or preferences.

The retailer's current sleeve catalogue establishes that Touch is offered and describes its structure; it does not independently confirm that Touch feels better than the other options. Until we find a clearly attributable owner test, we won't invent one.

Other current sleeves we have not compared hands-on

The official catalogue also lists Mod Tight, Mod Long, Mod Core, Chrysm, Flow and Gen3. The Edgy reviewer reports using three Mod sleeves with an original Handy 1, not a Handy 2; we did not independently verify firsthand tests of Chrysm, Flow or Gen3, so we are not rating them. This five-way table is a focused comparison, not the complete sleeve catalogue.

Fit, compatibility and accessories

The manufacturer explicitly lists compatibility with every Handy-branded sleeve for Handy 2. ClickOn is the device’s sleeve-holder connection; that does not mean old mounting hardware is interchangeable. That doesn't mean every non-Handy sleeve will attach without an extra holder, adapter, or fit check. Sleeve descriptions and bundle contents also change, so confirm the exact model and accessory list on the official store page. The Handy 2 Standard and Pro box lists a TrueGrip Gen3 sleeve, so check your package before buying an extra.

Texture is only one part of the setup. A good fit, secure attachment and comfortable positioning matter just as much. If you have limited hand function or expect to use the device hands-free, consider sleeve weight and how you will safely position the machine; do not assume a mounting kit is included.

Cleaning and lubricant

The manufacturer recommends water-based lubricant for Handy sleeves. Check the specific sleeve's care instructions before using soap, powders, other lubes or disinfectants: materials vary, and guesses can shorten their life. Clean and dry the sleeve after use and keep moisture away from the motor and charging port. An open-ended sleeve can make re-lubricating easier while also increasing the chance of mess.

Wear is normal. The Edgy reviewer reports changes in color and feel over years of personal use; do not infer that every sleeve lasts the same amount of time. Inspect yours regularly and replace it if it develops damage or cannot be cleaned properly.

Questions worth asking yourself

• Do I already own a comfortable sleeve, or am I paying for a duplicate?
• Will I need a holder or mount to keep the device steady?
• Would an open-ended design make cleanup awkward in my space?
• Do I prefer gentle pressure or more noticeable internal texture?
• Am I choosing a specific material, and does my lubricant suit it?
